www.cmg.ca: The Canadian Media Guild is also conducting a campaign to defend the CBC, under the theme CBC Now More Than Ever — Radio-Canada plus que jamais. Members of the public can ask Parliament to increase the CBC’s parliamentary appropriation and give it stable funding, indexed to inflation.
www.friends.ca: The Friends of Canadian Broadcasting site has the results of a very interesting national survey on CBC funding. A solid majority of Canadians think the Harper government wants to diminish public broadcasting in Canada. Most Canadians also think the government should increase funding for the CBC instead of cutting its budget. You can join the organization by making a donation.
www.sosradiocanada.org: A small new site recently launched by a group of concerned citizens. Over 400 people have posted comments in the space of a few days, most of them positive.
There are also more than a dozen CBC support sites on Facebook, including "Sauvons macadam tribu" and a link to a petition signed by more than 1,600 people.
